Pear Design Group was founded by Howard Pear in 1990. In 2009, he handed the business down to his daughter. When Pear Design Group began, it catered to the food industry and its accounts grew exponentially. As of 2009, Pear Design Group dealt with many Fortune 500 companies. Ms. Pear comes very well-qualified; however, she wants to narrow down the company’s focus to the green projects as well as the community projects that her clients may have. She knows that this might cause her to lose a few big accounts. However, it is more important to her to leave a much lighter carbon footprint and to make the world a better place.
The demographic she envisions is upper-middle class and upper-class parents. Most of the people are in their 30’s and 40’s. They are very conscious of what will be left of the planet when their children grow up. They are all aware of how lucky they are to have what they have and want to give something back. Ms. Pear is making sure that the infrastructure and the personnel maintain currency with the latest technological advances.The new tag line is “FRESH. FLAIR. PEAR.” The colors in the logo are greens, tans and golds—very earthy. The logo is in the shape of a pear. Pear Design Group is repeated all through the inside of the shape. At the bottom right of the shape in bold, uppercase letters, it says PEAR DESIGN GROUP, and the tag line is directly underneath. The signature font is Myriad Pro, which is a very crisp and clean sans serif font.
